CASE STUDY: A UNIQUE BOTTLE FOR THE CENTENARY ANNIVERSARY OF BERNARD MASSARD

THE CHALLENGE
Our client, the prestigious Bernard Massard house, known for the exceptional quality of its crémants from Luxembourg, did not want to let its 100th anniversary go unnoticed. They were looking for a bottle with a festive and elegant look, despite the fact that the wine was aged on its lees for 18 to 24 months in the bottle. Having to regularly turn the bottle throughout this maturation period would have inevitably damaged any pre-existing decoration on the bottle. A classic hot decoration after ageing would have degraded the crémant contained and was therefore also to be avoided.

OUR APPROACH
With our technical knowledge and excellent industry connections, we were able to offer the client a supreme quality bottle and cold enamel decoration combined with hot stamping, after the ageing process in the bottle. We also paid attention to the administrative constraints on the already bottled product, requiring the use of bonded decoration sites and warehouses throughout the process.

THE SOLUTION
A unique bottle with a particularly luxurious finish: silk-screen printing on the back and gold hot stamping on the front of the bottle. Not to mention the tax sticker on the bottom of the back label and its QR code. All parties involved are delighted with the result, which is now commercially available.

THE CUSTOMER
A family business for 5 generations, Bernard Massard creates beautiful vintages and great wines from Luxembourg each year. It is the first family producer of still and sparkling wines in the country with a total production of nearly 3,500,000 bottles.

CASE STUDY: A SUPER-PREMIUM DEVELOPMENT FOR THE BENROMACH HERITAGE RANGE

Our customer, the well-known Gordon & MacPhail of Elgin, is famous for its finest handmade single malt whisky, matured exclusively in first-fill casks.

The challenge was to create a supreme visual quality glass bottle for an exceptional 40 years old Benromach whisky, including all primary packaging components namely cork, capsule and medallion to the same standard.

Our project management consisted in engaging with all relevant companies in our manufacturer base from the very beginning of the project, coordinating the development of every single component and ultimately delivering the finalized project on time.

The result is a magnificent super-premium presentation for a range of very old and very special malt whisky: a 70cl extra flint bottle, fire-polished to visually remove the mould seams. The cork is topped by a rose gold coloured zamak top to match the colour of an authentic pot still and the medallion matches this colour. The capsule is manufactured to approx. three times the standard material thickness, to cope with application over the very wide neck profile.

CASE STUDY: A SHARPLY EMBOSSED BOTTLE FOR THE BENROMACH CORE RANGE

Our customer asked us to create a competitively priced but premium visual quality one-stop shopping experience for the Benromach core range.

The concept was to involve the glass, cork and capsule producers from the very beginning. Thereafter Gaasch Packaging managed the timely production of all three primary packaging components to deliver a sharply embossed bottle in extra-white flint, sealed by a top quality personalized wooden-topped cork stopper and beautifully embossed tin capsule.
